The name and the concept of this suite are to the Swedish artist AnnaSofia Mååg, self-explanatory. ‘Arktikos’ derives from the Greek word north, actually meaning north of the bear. These polar bears are frightening and comforting at the same time and they might be to cold to cuddle with, but these ambiguities are something AnnaSofia deliberately wants her art to be.
