The Swedish Institute of Space Physics (Institutet för rymdfysik, IRF) is a governmental research institute. Its primary task is to carry out basic research, education and associated observatory activities in space physics, space technology and atmospheric physics.
Technical Visits at IRF offers in-depth knowledge in the following fields;
AURORA BOREALIS (NORTHERN LIGHTS): What people used to believe, what we know today and how the phenomena is researched.
ATMOSPHERIC PHYSICS in the Arctic and Antarctica - nacreous clouds, noctilucent clouds and other phenomenons in the atmosphere (including research on the ozone and climate change).
METEORITES: What are they, where do the come from and how the phenomena is researched.
SATELLITE INSTRUMENTS: What you can learn from researching space physics with instruments aboard satellites.
SATELLITE INSTRUMENTS: How these instruments are developed by IRF and what the measure.
