To many, ICEHOTEL is only known as a hotel - albeit a unique one. But for us, the inspiration behind the art project that is ICEHOTEL comes from Torne River, its constant changeability through all four seasons. From liquid to frozen and back again to liquid - from river to river.
In collaboration with Milling Productions, ICEHOTEL releases the brand new video-clip "Life enriching moments" in social media. The video is a tribute to the Torne River and the idea behind the year-long production is to share the story of its ephemeral nature with the rest of the world.
ICEHOTEL is built on the bank of the Torne river in Jukkasjärvi every year, using only snow and ice from the river - about 1,000 tons of ice and 30,000 cubic meters of "snice" - a mix of ice and snow made by Torne river water using snow cannons.
