About the art suite
Cabinet in the Woods plays on the familiar image of a cabin nestled amongst trees. It is only once you've passed the doorway and the light bulb that is hanging in the solitary window that you realize there's more to it than you expected.
The bed is, in fact, a paneled wardrobe woth moldings and details usually reserved for wood craftsmanship. But the highlight is the intriacate frieze, drawing parallels to how the room itself was constructed.

About the artists
Hugh and Howard Miller are brothers living and working in Liverpool. They both trained at architects and collaborate frequently under the name H. Miller Bros.
Hugh is a furniture designer and maker, specializing in hardwood studio furniture. His signature style combines Japanese design with influence from the West.
Howard is an architect and and landscape desgner. He is interested in where nature and landscape meet the man-made. In 2016, the brothers created their first suite for ICEHOTEL, and The Cabinet in the Woods is their third suite.
