About the art suite
With an urge to explore nature and its profound elements, you embark upon an unknown and ephemeral ground. In front of you, a winding pathway edged with massive ice crescents, diverse in height and proportion. As if pulled by gravity, you are drawn in, and the wavy passage changes your perception with every step until the journey ends in front of a bed, surrounded by suggestive lights.
Filled with impressions, you lay down, taking in the starlit sky.

About the artists
Ida Mangsbo is a Swedish landscape architect from Gävle. Since her graduation from Uppsala Uiversity, she has been working as an landscape architect, for instance with creating public playgrounds. Mangsbo created her first suite at ICEHOTEL in 2012, and Crescents is the third suite here, and together with Julin.
Elin Julin is a Swedish landscape architect based in Linköping, where she works for Sweco. Julin got hooked on ice sculpting while finishing her master's degree at ICEHOTEL, and creating Crescents is her eight time travelling to Jukkasjärvi. This is the third suite she has created with Mangsbo.
