For almost three decades, Icehotel has melted back to Torne River come spring. This year it is world premiere for ice cold experiences 365 days a year on the riverbank in Jukkasjärvi, 200 km above the Arctic Circle. It is time to plan a summer vacation in Swedish Lapland.

World Premiere for Winter in the Height of Summer at Icehotel

Icehotel can from now on welcome guests to experience the magical ice in a totally new way in Jukkasjärvi. During the spring and summer, the mythical midnight sun shines on forests and waters – whilst cooling the part of Icehotel that is open year round and powered by solar energy.

On the riverbank, Icehotel stands proudly and filled with art created from crystal clear arctic ice, a contrast to the lush greenery outside. The hotel includes an ice bar, an ice gallery and twenty ice suites, nine of them with private sauna and relax, individually created and hand sculpted by artists from around the globe.

Around 50 000 guests visit Icehotel every winter season, many of them international guests. With the new year round investment, Icehotel hopes to attract more Swedish guests to the northern part of Sweden during the summer months.

More and more people are coming to the northern Sweden for hiking, fishing and relaxing – that includes us Swedes. We think that many of these visitors have a wish to combine their experience with a night on ice at Icehotel.

ABOUT ICEHOTEL

Icehotel opened in 1989 and is beside a hotel also an art exhibition with ever-changing art out of ice and snow. Icehotel is created in a new guise every winter, completely made out of natural ice from Torne River, one of Sweden’s national rivers and last untouched waters.

When the winter season’s Icehotel has melted back into the river in the spring, a part of the hotel remains; Icehotel 365 - a place where visitors can experience the ice and sleep in hand carved art suites all year-round.
