Welcome into The Winter Garden Suite, an ode to nature and life
In this frozen garden, the artists have planted an ancient tree, made by Torne River ice. The magnolia tree first appeared millions of years ago, but this very particular tree will only remain until next spring. In this airy and restful space, 200 ice sheets have been used for the graphic art walls. All patterns have originally been drawn by hand and translated into digital graphics. Finally the artwork has been CNC-milled into every ice sheet, before puzzled together on site, by hand.

KAUPPI & KAUPPI is a designer duo with roots in the very north and south of Sweden. Their awardwinning design studio approaches design in all scales, from large spatial projects to small tactile objects in the hand’s size. Johan and Nina have been part of seven versions of Icehotel.
